My friend Paul an I went to Tapps today. We targeted muskies. We did manage one small one. Maybe 27 inches or so. Didn't see any others. Last week I was there and caught about a 30 incher trolling. Both muskies where caught on a j-13 rapala in the standard gold/yellow body.

We also trolled around and only managed a couple of small small mouths. These were caught on perch colored crank baits. I'll definitely be back, because I want to bag one of those big ones. We catch and release everything of course. I'm new to this lake, and I have only fished muskies in Wisconsin prior to this. Tapps is a very interesting lake, although for some reason I don't think I'm quite fishing it correctly. I never seem to catch any of the many smallmouths that everyone else reports. If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it. I'll definitely be back, but I may wait until September because the pleasure boat activity is heavy, and I'm not sure how many times I want to pay for that Allen launch, what a rip off.

Also, both muskies I've caught have some sort of bacteria that eat the fishes tails and fins. One fish had less than 50% of it's tail fin? Anyone know what this is?

probably from someones undersized net that cut into the soft part of the tail and got infected... however i'm not a biologist.
