My family moved to Spokane about a year and a half ago from Portland. I fished the Willamette river regularly for my favorite fish, smallies. My best down there was 6.2 pounds. I am trying to find a place I can fish from shore and will produce as consistently as the Willamette did. I have no boat, if anybody has any suggestions please, please let me know.
I went down to Long lake/Spokane river this morning. Fished from shore below the Nine Mile dam. Finally, I hooked into a nice smallie. 19 inches, but of course, I forgot the camera, and I release all bass I catch to grow, reproduce, and be caught another day. I was torn because I really wanted a picture, but I had to let her go. I was using a 1/2 oz. lipless crankbait, chartreuse. The water was dirty from the storm last night so figured bright would be the way to go. Arrived around 7am, and left around 10:30. Caught 3 smallmouth and 5 squawfish
