I thought I'd check out the Crappie and Bass at this lake, having never fished it before.
The weather was hot, the surface temperature ran from 68 deg. F to 80 deg. F, depending on the time of day and location. The far pool is all but unreachable by boat, with only about a foot of water going over a shallow saddle.
Still, we saw a lot of small bass following our spinnerbaits (single hook barbless, no scent or bait of course). Most bass ran from 4 to 8 inches, and if there were bigger bass, they would have nailed one of the followers before they took our fakes.
The crappie were deep in the center section of the lake, 22' to 38', and often mixed with the trout.
There were trout fishermen fishing with lead core lines and flies, and claims were that they were catching and releasing often.
