Over the past 2 weeks I decided to drop trout fishing (mainly because I like to eat white meat) and begin bass fishing. A friend took me out a few times last year and showed me some techniques. Well, through some exploration, I heard if you want to catch the big guys, you need to use a big lure. So I swapped my plastic jig for a Rapala. I ventured to the other side of the lake using my fishing kayak. The water was like glass. What a fun time! I didn't expect to catch an 18 inch, 3.25 lb. largemouth bass. I caught him at 10:30 AM by Tumtum. I spent the majority of my time pulling milfoil off of my lure, but it was definitely worth this fish. I used a green, jointed, Rapala. Not a bite the rest of the time.
