Well after my son kept changing his mind if he wanted to go fishing, we went to bear after taking him to see Surf's Up at the new cinema up in Wandermere. It was a good show btw but by then he was already trying my patience as two year olds love to do. So we get to the lake and the only people at the larger fishing dock were just leaving it. So I take my son out on the dock to try fishing from there. I was a little leery that even though they have a nice rail set up, with him only being 2 and 36" tall I could see him slipping and sliding right under the bottom rung. He was still in the "not listening very well" frame of mind he didn't want to sit, wanted to lean against the rail, and just didn't really want to fish. I had my line in the water using the same thing as last week for about 20 minutes without a bite. Then another younger couple came onto their dock with what looked like to me to be a mixed pitbull breed and tied the dog up to the rail. The dog was acting friendly but my anxiety over my son just increased. Mostly my imagination was visualizing the dog knocking my son into the water or clothelining him with the leash. So I figured I wasn't in the best frame of mind and neither was my son so we left. It was a perfect evening, I think there was another one or two people across on the other side on the shore but very quiet, nice and tranquil, I almost told the wife that she gets him for the rest of the afternoon and went back just to sit and relax....at that time I was wishing it wasn't a juvenile or disable only lake hehe.
