First time on Heart Lake, it was a beautiful setting. it was windy, with the water temperature at 63 degrees. Arrive about 8:30 and had my first fish within 2 minutes. Trolling a green bugger with flash and a black tail.. worked well. Hooked about 20 fish, landed 12, all catch and release. All fish were 14", fat and good fighters.. used a 5 weight and was not over rodded. definitely worth the time, but better be quick as by noon, the place filled up and people were catching and keeping at a record pace. A few dad's catching for their young kids, and one guy kept well over his limit, but was giving them away. Anyway, what a clean launch area and outhouse facility. Thanks to whoever runs the park and lake..
