Fished at Blue last, the fishing was awesome. It was as many as you wanted to catch and release. Kept enough to fry in the pan. They really loaded the lake with trout for this year. All the fish were about 12-13 inches and a few of the bigger triploids about 1 for every 25 little fish caught. Some people could just float power bait behind the boat and the fish would eventually swim up and take it. The fish were mainly near the big drop offs in about 15-20 feet of water. It was hard to fish during the heat of the day. I understand why they killed it off, but to have all those really big trout gone was just sad. Last year we used down-riggers and only caught 18-22 inch fish and the fish finders showed a lot of fish in the lake, plus it was fun to catch several different species. I know not everyone uses down-riggers in a lake, but it sure was fun to catch a bunch of the big fish to fight and release. Can't wait until next year for this lake.
