While traveling up I-5, I decided to stop and make a few casts at Kress Lake. The day was warm and sunny. Lots of anglers were fishing for trout. I tried to stir up a little interest in one of the lakes largemouth bass. Armed with two rods, rigged with a spinnerbait and a Rapala, I fished around the entire lake. I made stops at the numerous places where a bank angler can make a cast. I found no bass willing to play but I did have a big steelhead follow my spinnerbait all the way back to the shoreline. I also saw another steelhead, dead, near the shoreline. I saw no action from the numerous trout fishermen either. Just a nice day to be at the lake.
