My son and I fished Banks from May 31 - June3. We actually went to Banks with the intentions to target walleye but the fishing was really slow for us (and numerous other people) so we went with plan B, as in bass. The smallmouth were absolutely hammering the topwaters. My son was using a Rebel Pop-R and I was using a Zara Spook. In those few days I'd say we caught and released at least 50 quality fish working all the typical structure areas ( points, ledges, etc.) I caught a few nice largemouth up in the shallows north of Steamboat on chartreuse and silver/ black spinnerbaits . It was pretty much consistent action all day even with bright sunlight and really high temperatures.
