Wenas Lake water level has been lowered to Fall/Winter level.
It is now very difficult to launch a trailered boat. We
carried in our 11' inflatable and spent the morning trolling
around the dam. We caught 3 10-12" rainbows dragging around
Roostertails and a Panther Martin XD. You could see the larger
fish chasing shiners and creating lots of surface boil.
Fished a couple of hours from the west shore, soaking night-
crawlers under slip bobbers with good success. We ended up
taking home 8 rainbows in the 12-14" range.
Will probably head back over after the water cools off to see
if we can't find some bigger fish.
