Went camping at Mason Lake on the south shore (by Simpson Park) with a friend. The weather was comfortable (65 & cloudy).

The lake along the south shore (mostly west half of the shore) runs nicely shallow most of the way out from 5 - 9 foot deep with good vegetation.

The perch fishing was excellent. Had perch for breakfast and decided I wanted a decent lunch, and in about 30 minutes had 15 fat perch running 10-14 inches (c&r a lot of smaller ones). There were quite a few huge pikeminnow that was kind of exciting (until I got them in the boat lol ).

Clear water, abundant perch. great day. Wish I could have stayed longer.
