this was our first trip to rufus woods and we arrived about 1500. we didn't bring the boat east with us, so we stopped at the first fishing area just past the dam. what a great layout. restroom, picnic table right on the water with built-in pole holders. the wind was blowing an easy 15-20mph, and it was shirtsleeve weather. we fished there for about an hour and a half using various bait and didn't even get a bump. we up and moved on down the road to about the 6 mile mark and found a place to fish from the shore. i hooked and landed the one and only fish we got there after about 15 min. he was 16-17", and weighed about 20 oz.we fished for another hour or so with no luck so we headed on up north towards a new lake. we would have been disappointed with the fishing if we had come all the way from the coast just to fish here, but as it was, we found a nice, new place to come fishing on another day.
