Well I'm going to give this lake 5 stars even tho its that time of year when bass fishing is at its best. I didn't start fishing the lake till late last season and I wish it was a year round lake because its that good.
I started fishing the west shore and worked my way around with jigs and Texas rigged plastics. The wind was blowing to hard so I went with a deep diving crank bait in 1-2ft of water. I was reeling back to the boat really slow banging the deep diver against the rock. This is a somewhat hard way to fish because you might not be able to detect strike with all the stuff your beating up on but polarized glasses will help you out a lot. I missed one fish then shortly after caught the one in the pics weighing in at 5.10oz. I wasn't positive I had it on because I was hitting timber so I stopped reeling. Then I was able to see the bass with the lure in its mouth so I set the hook. Sight fishing and bed fishing are two different things and I was NOT bed fishing.
I continued around the lake with the frog pattern crank bait and caught a few more around a pound including a feisty trout. Where there's grass there's bass and this lake thick with under water vegetation.
All fish were released to spawn, grow bigger and let others enjoy the catch!
