Took a break from a work party at the cabin to try this lake with the
girls. As we arrived, a group of folks was just leaving with a bag
of 10 to 15 trout they had caught on worms from the flat on the North
shore. I tried the fly rod for a bit in between tending poles, but
didn't get anything. The fish might have been stirred up. I ran
power bait with a slip sinker for the girls, but we got no takers
with the bait sitting. I saw a trout lying on the bottom near where
Megan's pole was, and slowly reeled in towards it. As the bait went
by, it hammered it, and I let Megan reel it in. It was about 9".
Michelle also got about a 6"er when she was reeling in to check her
bait one time. Then it was time to go. I think motion may be the
key for this lake. I also think I may have done better with flies
more towards morning or evening. This lake is in a pretty area.
