Fished the southern portion of Portage Bay for an hour and a half from shore near the Montlake ball fields. Primarily used a weedless, Texas-rigged rubber worm (6"). I could see large bass everywhere, apparently on the bed in extremely shallow water. Didn't get any fish, as it's difficult to fish from shore in that area. I ended up being right on top of the fish most of the time. Also tried a small, white-skirted jig with some power bait for a few casts.
