I fished the pier between Mt. Baker Park and Stan Sayres Memorial Park for about 1 hour (4:00 pm to 5:00 pm). Bounced a small jig with a white trout-style skirt adorned with a Powerbait Crappie Nugget on the bottom of the lake. First cast in about 10 feet of water hooked a yellow perch, but I failed to get him up on the pier. He was big enough to keep, but nothing to get excited about. Didn't get one bite for the remaining hour.

Two other guys showed up about 15 minutes after I arrived. One guy fished next to me and didn't get one bite. The other fished the deeper water at the end of the pier. He caught a 7" or 8” fish using a small white jig right away. I think he said it was a Cusk, but he was hard to understand and I didn't investigate. The same guy caught a tiny Bullhead Catfish a few minutes later, but then nothing else.

So 7" fish referenced in the about post was just a Yellow Perch. The guy's thick accent made it sound like he was saying "Pus", and I figured he meant "Cusk (Bourbot)". But actually, the guy just had a crazily strange pronunciation of the word "Perch".
