Got Saturday chores done by noon and headed over the Narrows Bridge. Within the hour was trolling a weddingring with worm and small splitshot. Out about 15 pulls. This is a shallow weedy lake (swamp) so near topwater trolling is best. Took twenty minutes to hook my first fish., a fat 10" plant. Lost a couple before landing a good looking 15". Spent two hours trolling around and left with 3 keepers 12-15". No hot spot. Speed varied from #2 to #4 on my electric Minkota 46. At the ramp (gravel beach) another boater was leaving and had some fish to 3lbs. He was trolling some secret flies. That is a fun way to fish here and stay above the weeds. I had no flies this time out. Shore fishers landed fish as I put in and when I was leaving. They said it was hit hard as usual on the opener, but still has some left. Lake used to have some brown cats in it. Probably still does. Hadn't been here in for a few years. Good luck DH.
