I have been fishing lake Padden daily since the opener. I have a 12 foot aluminum boat, and motor guide motor and have been having great success trolling the shoreline between the tennis courts and the boat launch using a 5/8 oz weight and rooster tail combo. I briefly visited toad lake on Wednesday, but was blown out by wind and finished the day w/ the spinner combo on Padden and did very well. Another good rig has been the same weight w/ a long leader and F6 or F5 flatfish trolled at low speed.
I have found that popgear/bait combos haven't been the ticket, try a lure with no bait trolled very far behind the boat.
Good luck, and tight lines.
