We made our annual opening day fishing trip to Jameson and were very impressed. It has been down the last few years, but this year the fish were really biting. Opening morning my 4-year old son and I were trolling pretty much all over the lake. We fished from 7:30 am until 1:30 pm and caught and released about 30 fish between the two of us, despite losing a lot of time for tangle-ups. My son was able to catch his first 12 fish ever by himself. We were trolling pop gear and wedding rings with either worms or green power bait. On the north end of the big lake I caught a 17" trout. The rest were all between 9-11". The water was very clean and at the highest level I had seen in. The wind was not an issue all weekend. This was a great weekend and I'm looking forward to coming back memorial weekend.
