Fished Toad for three hours with my dog Honey, was looking for a five pound monster (that my neighbor's friend had caught--not too long ago) but didn't catch anything. Once again, I was goofin around and trolling with a dick-nite spoon. Very little fish sign (rises, etc.) This lake is 30 something feet deep and the day was a very warm one. Fished the shadows knowing that that might hold the key to a shallower fish but to no avail. Lake is a nice, peaceful and small lake. Water was very warm. Fish must've been on the bottom. Only one other boater had caught fish that I had talked to and that was earlier in the day (around noon) on powerbait. They were hatchery and not holdover trout. It is interesting seeing hatchery trout learning to eat insects when they are hungry and have no pellets from the hatchery to eat.
