Stopped off at the north end of Lake Lenore today to visit with the WDFW Biologists and technicians while they spawned 600 Lahontan cutthroat. A pretty interesting operation to watch.
Once I was done I went to the north end of the lake and fished for an hour. Winds were variable, making casting tough at times. It being the middle of the week, it was not crowded (about 7 anglers total).
The fishing was pretty slow. Even though I could see fish cruising by, they were not in a biting mood. Finally caught and released one three pounder on a spinner.
Temps were mild, skies were partly cloudy, and even one three pound fish is enough to put a smile on my face for the day.
