OK, I got lured in to trying this lake after the last post. I fully admit it. Regardless, I am working on learning early spring bass techniques so Goodwin was as good a lake to try on as any. Got to the launch at 9am and first thing gone wrong - dead starter battery. I should have listened to that little voice last night to check the batteries. Then I find my primary depth finder batteries are dead. Oh brother. So I head north and hug the east shoreline on electric trolling motor only. I had wanted to try a different area but oh well. I fished drop-shooting, jig/pig, small jig w blade, and deep diving crank bait for 3 hours. Worked from 8 to 20+ ft deep. Nothing. A little windy but fortunately I did have wind blockage most of the time. Didn't stay out too long as I'm getting over a cold. Just another frustrating day on the water - now what does a fish feel like again?
