Went out to my favorite lake again this year, there are so many trees down over the trail that if you haven't been there before, you won't find it, anyways, I caught a "Football" this fish was only 17" but from belly to back fin it was 6.5" looked like a triploid, now this may sound crazy, but the rainbows and the cutts are breeding making cuttbows, there are also brookies in there, so my theory is that this was a natural tripliod, a triploid is all three of those fish genetically mixed, but could this happen in the wild,I wonder, but either way that was a big fish and a great time

I lived by the fork off high rock rd. in the 60's and 70's about 10 miles from lake Fontal. As kids did then we rode dirt bikes to the many lakes in the area. Fontal Resort was barley standing then, shut down, but there. The Fishing was always great. At that time the opening day weekend keg partys were legendary, the Snohomish County Sheriff's would not think about comming in. There was Big Foot known to be in the area,,I think... as there was alot of purple Micro-Dot Acid around in that era..King lake also was very good in those years...I hope the kids at the camps today get as much wonderment from lake Fontal as we did.
