My nephew and I fished the lake from about 1:30pm till about 6PM. We first tried the bridge next to the road ( access channel) there were tons of bluegill, we were using worms and bobbers, not hooked, but lots of action. There were probably crappie as well, but we didn't stick around to find out. We went to my favorite spot, the first small dam at the back end of the lake. We started using worms and bobbers and had success, we were catching lots of small bluegill, then it hit... It was a 10 inch crappie, surprised the heck out of me. We quickly switched to little yellow and clear micro jigs. We started catching large bluegill ( palm size) and some nice crappie, ranging from 7-9 inches. In total my nephew caught 19 bluegill and 1 crappie, and I caught 23 bluegill and about 8 crappie ( all over 6 inches) We were there about 2 hours and it was action, action, action. The water is starting to warm up, so the crappie will really start getting active. This lake is not fished a lot, so there are a ton of big crappie and a there were some 7-8 lbs largemouth's pulled out of there earlier this year. If you are into lots of action and nice sized crappie, THIS IS THE PLACE...
