I hit the new public boat ramp near the Elk's Lodge in the late afternoon, probably around 5PM. The little park features a fishing/boat dock as well as a grassy area that is great for casting. I opted to climb the bank and cast around some large trees. Using a small Krocidille lure in rainbow pattern, My first cast yielded a solid hit. I cast about 30 feet from shore and used a jerk/reel retrieve to entice the 14 inch rainbow to bite. This would be the first of two trout for me, another being a hatchery fresh brown trout. My brother used a kastmaster and he had success pulling in two trout. We left by 6PM with four nice trout. Not bad for Lacamas. Hit the lake soon though, as the water will warm soon. This will send most of the trout out of range for bank anglers. Then again, Lacamas is excellent for warm water fish. Good Luck
