Yes, its official, there are no more rainbow trout in Lake Easton. To as far as I know, there are no fish at all in the lake. And to my suprise I find people trying there luck at the 4'' brookies. Went to the lake to just explore, after traveling from Cooper Lake in Kittias county, with my catch of two descent 13'' browns. The park ranger of lake Easton laughed at the people who were fishing, stating that they were all campers, enjoying the last days of this Indian Summer. I think they should make fishing illegal here, to save peoples time from having to drive up here. If restoring the property on Lake Easton, or their pacific salmonoid project is their goal, why have open fishing? My note is to all the new fisherman in the area, don't come to this lake, for it's a waist of time. Try some of the smaller lakes like in the weyerhauser property, it is the one place that still supports a descent enviorment for us Fly Anglers. Lakes like Lost lake, Keechelus lake, Kachees, Cle Elum lake, and Cooper lake are starting to decline in quality. I would say try to discover some new different lakes in the Alpines, because you really will be dissapointed with the lakes we have. Good luck! Your gonna need it in these lakes!
