Musky Fishing in Iraq

Post by Dex » Tue Aug 25, 2009 12:11 am

Come on people...... Did you really think they have Muskie’s over here? LOL #-o

Just wanted to drop you all a line to say DJ and I are doing fine and Dennis should be heading home in a few months.

While talking with the guys we are replacing I noticed some old fishing poles in the corner and asked what they were used for. I found out that this is a small fishing hole near here and is full of some weird looking carp. I figured nasty ass carp are better than nothing, right... Anyway I'm working on the reels and poles to get them working a little better and then DJ and I are off to the fishing hole. I always wanted to travel around and fish. I guess this is my opportunity. Of course I'll send you all some pictures of our catch, I'm willing to bet our chances will be pretty good or at least better than a large musky back home.

Anyway you all take care and I'll keep you posted. Have fun at the Tapps Tournament, I know it's going to be a huge event and people are not going to want an miss it like I will. At least I have a damn good excuse. LOL

Take care

I fished the river alot whe nI was there. I am not sure what we were catching and NO we didn't eat any of them. I did eat fish at some Shieks houses though and I am sure they came out of one of the nasty rivers there.

I've seen that site before and if I remember correctly members of Chap 57 "NW Tiger Pac" sent them some supplies a while back. The one problem I have is that we are nowhere near Baghdad... I don't have that luxury this time around. LOL

Thanks

Well, as you already know, were about to have some serious tourney action here this weekend, wish you were here.

What have you been catching? Have you even been able to get out to fish? Anybody run any fishing tourneys/derbys over there?
