What A Fluke

Post by fishingmachine » Thu Jul 09, 2009 1:03 pm

So me and my buddy were fishing smallies yesterday. He had caught one dink on a dropshot and I lost a pig largie on a t-rigged curl tail zoom worm. Somehow managed to pop the hook. But anyways we were fishing deep structure and deep docks throwing dropshots and cranks. Well we were fishing in this cove and i tell my friend that im just gonna throw into the middle of the cove where it is about 20 feet deep but no structure what so ever and i will catch a big fish and he is like no way in heck u will. So i throw my dropshot out there and let it hit bottom. I twitch it once and i feel the pick up from a fish and i drive the hook into it and it felt like a small smallmouth until it was about 20ft from the boat and jumped. IT WAS A PIG. From then on the smallie was pulling drag giving violent headshakes and staying deep with one more giant leep. Well we land the piggie and it weighed an even 4lbs my PB for this year. The homeowners that were outside gave us an ovation as we sent the piggie back to the depths.

Great fish, congrats. root Image

Looks like a cove on Sammamish. Image Image

I'm thinking of going there tomorrow morning. What time will the gates be open these days?
