Jig colors in your box?
I was just wondering what colors of jigs everyone has in their tackle boxes...I wanted to condense my colors for the waters of Washington and Oregon
Also, does anyone know some of the producing colors for lakes in Southern California?
I'm not really asking for just football heads...moreso football, flipping, and swim jigs.
Thank you in advance!

Usual black/blue, pumpkin, and brown. Got a white one for swimming...gonna work on that technique this season. Couldn't tell you about CA I haven't lived or fished there for nearly 20 years. I suspect the same colors tho. I heard from a very reliable source..when in doubt, match the bottom color.

I like the traditional colors like black/blue, black with blue flake and green pumpkin. I also carry some other colors to match certain jig colors like PB&J and some craw and bluegill patterns. That is the nice thing about making my own, there is no color that you can not match.

You can tell where ever you can see the bottom there isn't a huge diff. on most lakes. You can also drag the bottom with something heavy to see what is down there. Or for pretty cheap you can get an aqua view that is what they are the best for. (very good for locating deep structure/and gravel or rock patches)TravisRush wrote:How do you know the color of the bottom?

I like the dragging option better
Is it fairly easy to distinguish what is on bottom?

Black n Blue, Black n Purple, and Green Pumpkin are my main staples. I usually use black n Blue if water clarity is darker. Green pumpkin if the water is clearer.
