Post by fishingmachine » Mon Jun 30, 2008 5:27 pm

I need to get better at using a variety of baits and was wondering what your guys favorite bait is for Beaver Lake Bass in King County.

Topwater should be turning on soon. Pick up some buzzbaits and other topwater lures, lots of fun to fish those....

The stuff we used Saturday worked great.
I think its more about finding them than what lures we use.

In the past mounth I've been getting some big fish on jigs with trailors. If I'm not getting any on the jig I use large plastic worms black or junebug, grape is good also.

okay sounds good Trent i have had good luck working the docks with my baits i feel i just need to work my baits more and put in more time. I think i will stick it out with some 7in worms and maybe my smaller ones. I will also try throwing a rapala and a small spinnerbait

If your looking for "quality" I'd say upsize what you have that works cause that lake is infested with a lot of dinks. So throw stuff that keeps them off your line, or try something unorthodox, cause that lake gets a decent amount of pressure for bass. Like Trent said, jigs, especially big ones will give you a better chance at finding bigger fish...

I wouldn't suggest small spinnerbaits if you are looking for big fish. They will take them, but you will be catching so many of those 10 inchers....

Try some swimbaits perhaps. I know Beaver gets stocked with some puny stockers, I'd have to think that the few 5+lbers munch on those....

i second this. think big worms. even bigger than seven inches try the 12". i have never caught a dink on a jig, thats something to think about.
