Wallace River
Confused...On location of the Wallace that's open from September 16th-November 30th...Mouth meaning where the Wallace and the Sky meet, up from that to the railroad bridge? Is that the specific area that's open for that time frame?
Area that's open on Nov. 1st is that from the railroad bridge and upstream?...

Re: Wallace River
get a copy of the regs. Go to google maps. follow the river and find each boundary point
Re: Wallace River
AHHHHH I got it now...basically anything fromt he mouth to the hatchery is fair game. Starting November 1st from the hatchery to the falls is open. Answered my own question. Thank you.

Re: Wallace River
I usually go across that 363rd bridge and drive along Reese Road a little ways until you see a gravel area on the lefthand side. BEWARE of the Monroe redneck tweekers/twackers though....drysuperfly52 wrote:i will be there, where is the best place to park now that they took out the parking by the bridge?
Re: Wallace River
At that point I would leave nothing in my car...not even a shirt or a cup of water..who knows...

Re: Wallace River

Re: Wallace River
No clue on whether it's private property or not. I'm assuming it is, because there are a couple houses at the end of Reese Road...I actually don't know much about wading into private property...is it allowed or are they allowed to shoot you? loldrysuperfly52 wrote:yeah that is the way to the mouth right, can you wade up the river or does is all fall onto private property
Re: Wallace River
Wondering if you're also allowed to park and fish by the hatchery like you are allowed at reiter...

Re: Wallace River
i was debating parking at the hatchery then walking back out from there to the bridge then go up from there... i just hate walking all over the place in my waders

Re: Wallace River
You can park at the Hatchery, but walking to the hwy 2 bridge then walking up stream to the mouth is a LOOOOOOOONG walk. I see people park on the side of the road on Hwy 2 to fish the local holes.
Re: Wallace River
In looking at an overhead map of the salmon hatchery it doesn't even look like it's open to the public or accessible by the public though...hmmm That would be a long trek from the hatchery to the bridge...

Re: Wallace River
Oh well that answers that, haha. Good to know that you can park there. Yeah I would definitely trust my car there instead of along side of a road where it is more visible. Are you allowed to hike to the back of the hatchery to the river or is that off limits?...
Re: Wallace River
It's just so sad what everyone has to deal with because of the Tweekers. I always have the same feeling when parking at Reiter Hwy side.drysuperfly52 wrote:i stop at the hatchery to stretch my legs just about every time i pass through, i know you can park there, but that is a looong walk. but also. i bet my car is safe.....

Re: Wallace River
You are allowed to park at the hatchery and walk behind it to access the river. It is a bit confusing though cause the bridge you walk over says authorized personal only but if you go over it and keep going another 20-30 yds theres another sign that says public fishing. However i went there recently and the public fishing sign has been taken down so don't know about that. I'm sure many people will still be going back there to fish when it opens. Also in the regs it says 200' above the intake but usually when it opens theres a no fishing sign and the cutoff is actually 200' below the intake.

Re: Wallace River
that is a much better (safer) walk, i always wondered how people got to all the upper holes, it was a pain going up from the bridge
