fall muskie
hey. i was just wondering if anyone has had success fishing for tiger muskies this late in the year... i have caught a couple in the summer at mayfield and merwin and was getting the itch to go now haha. i know back east a lot of people feel this is the best time to catch muskie. any input is appreciated.
RE:fall muskie
bailiem23, I have had a bunch of follows as of lately. Just haven't had as much time as I would like to hit the water. That changes tomorrow. I will be spending all day on the water. The fish are very interested in large lures right now. They are however a little sluggish, so I suppose finesse is in order now. Bring them in slow, and throw the big stuff. Good luck and let us know how you do.....

RE:fall muskie
bialiem23,
Hey, anytime is a good time to go fishing!
Yeah, "Tiger" fishing gets a little slower as the weather/water temps get colder but the fish still do eat... It is just a matter of being in the right place, at the right time, with the right lure when they decide to feed etc...LOL...
I hear Merwin is rising now (about 7 feet) and there is a lot of debris floating around out there as of this past week. We fished Mayfield a couple of weeks ago, in the rain, and had a few nice "follows" but no takers. If you do go have a great time and as always be safe out there!... logs can be hard on boats and lower units!

>----):< A good gamefish is too valuable, to be caught only once.
