I can see it now -- Dez changing his name to "Big Trout Dez." Sorry Dez - Just joking.
Thats funny you say that. On the day we were fishing he said that he was changing his name to BigTroutDez. I thought that was right for the species of fish we caught that day.

Its alright Dez once you show me a bass on your hook this year we can change your name back. If you want I'll change my name to RPerch16 if it makes you feel better.

If you need a reel that's going to hold lots of 20# line shimano made a new low profile curado that will hold as much as a "round" baitcaster.
Here are some awesome rods! They are GLX quality without the price tag. Rogue Swimbait Rods

My biggest improvement will be less water displacement in my little 8-foot jon boat (AKA "the dinghy").

I hope to be at least 50 lbs lighter by the time our weather warms up.

I'll be learning new lakes like Mattoon and Fio Ritio and Lavender. Can't wait to be bank fishing and plunking. I ordered some Gang Hooks from JWRfishing.com and can't wait to use them! It should be different from the raw and cold conditions on LW to catch those cutts.

To become a great bass angler you must not only study the habits and behavior of a bass, but one must become proficient in the habits and behavior of its prey. Thus we all from time to time must sink down to the level of a trout fisherman.

Most people dont realize but there is a HUGE diffrence from a 10' boat and a 14' boat. Our old boat was 14' and we would go salmon fishing all the time in it, while fishing 3 people cramped but not too uncomfortable. Now I have a 10.5' boat and wouldnt dare taking that thing salmon fishing. I have fished 4 out of the 10.5' but hate to do so and would preffer to only fish 2. I know its only a 3.5' diffrence but that 3.5' makes a HUGE diffrence.

I use to fish Lavender A LOT, and I have been fishing it for about 15 years and I really cant rember catching anything out of it. Still trying to find that Mattoon. On the reports for that lake a guy talks about catching everything from dolly varden to huge cats in that lake. Fio Rito is a great liitle set of lakes. I have never acctually caught anything big there but every time I go I catch at least something. The lakes get HUGE plants all year long, pan fryers, trips, 10lb broods, browns. There is also some bass in there as well. I like it because of the free camping too, yet to stay there but cant beet free lake side camping.

OOO YEAH BOYZ , Dont think i forgot about this thread , now that the weather is ramping up for us remember to hold true to the things that were mentioned and stay committed to them . I was one the few crazy and insane bass guys out there prior to the (70 degree) days that are coming up and yes i have been working and staying focus and will continue to work on my list . I find it so funny that million of thoughts go through my head while im in my warm and toasty home , but as soon as i hit the lake it is a challenge to revisit those ideals and apply them to my strategy for the day ..LOL.. The only different between a good angler and and poor is one thing "COMMITMENT" ... Be Safe ... BBD :salut:
