racfish wrote:Bass was never a fish that Id keep anyway. My whole big thing against C&R are people who target spawning salmon or Native Steelies. There are too many times as someone else said about handling fish then let them go.Thats why I fell out of my toon.I tried to release the fish w/o yanking him (or her)out of the water.I agree ESRN Bass isnt the most tastey.I'd prefer a yellow perch or crappie over bass.I guess another big reason for release now is that im on Weight Watchers and fried fish are a taboo now.The lord works in mysterious ways.He (or she) mustve seen me keeping fish.Hehehe.
I was on a job today where this guy told me he rents a huge pontoon with kitchens bedrooms and hot tubs and dopes the Lake Roosevlt fishing trip.He told me he kept 70 bass over his vacation and froze them all.I almost cried.I say the beauty of living in Wa State is being able to catch fresh fish all year long.I DONT freeze any fish lessen its gonna be crab bait ie...chum or Humpies.
I am an old dog willing to learn new tricks.I value all y'alls opinions and suggestions.Thats the total beauty of a site like this one.Good luck all.

I thought about it.I can see y'alls point with the C&R.I reluctantly told my neighbor about a crabbing spot to try .He came back bragging how he and his buddy got over 20 crabs.I was so poed he crabbed illegal. If hes allready taking over the limit lord knows how many other $@#*& people he told that are over crabbing limits.I thought hed be good since he drives for ups.

Sucks to hear that.

It's a long thread and maybe I misread some of it and understood other parts. But I would hope any of the information people on this website give me is accurate and honest. If you don't want to tell me don't, but don't lie to me and mislead me because you don't like how I or others fish.

I learned bass fishing on my own with a cheap 20 dollar fishing pole, wal-mart line, a pack of jigs and two packs of grubs a yellow and dark one not sure which color because I'm colorblind. I fished a whole summer with just those items. I hated fishing growing up because my now deceased father only liked to fish for trout. But my wife wanted me to go with her father, so I decided I'd learn. I love bass fishing now. I even dream about it on a good night ;). But from my budget you may be able to tell my wife and I are poor, we're both college students. We can't afford fish so I keep small bass that are under 12 inches now. I release the larger ones (probably small to you all) because I dislike the flavor. That's my choice so in the future with that knowledge I appreciate you either be honest with me or just don't answer my questions.

Thanks to everyone who has been willing to disclose techniques, lures and good places to fish. I really appreciate it and have a lot of fun thanks to the help of this website.
