this weekends best bets?

I was kinda surprised I had a few bites, and one or two that I really thought I had FISH ON even bent rod one time, but missed a few of hook ups today. I think it may have been that I was using a smaller than usual hook on larger than usual senkos possibly. The one I caught was on a very small sniper worm which may have been more appropriate for the smaller hook I was using. Although it led to two trout hooks ups too, LOL.

I can't wait to get out again and get some more. And to think... the season is still supposed to get better from here

If you have a small boat with just electric only I would be hitting Northlake in fed way, or lake Doloff. These warm up fast and have some big bass in them.

Also if you have an outboard motor I would focus on Angle Lake by the airport on Pacific Hwy. Saw a couple of fish in there that were over 9-10 bls a couple of years ago and it gets very little if at all pressure.

Northlake, is closed for the season unfortunately, but Dolloff is year round. I'd love to fish both from a boat.

We did good. I ended up moving the boat along too fast. A problem for me when I'n crankbait fishing. Some of those areas we fished need to be fished slower and from a different angle. We'll have to do that again when we have all day. Altho we did have enough time to fish them better. I did want to show you as many spots as I could.

Thanks for that Tom. Actually ironically... all the places that we caught fish yesterday were areas where i was starting to lose hope! So getting around helped a lot I think.

Nice job guys . what was the temp out there ? Spanaway was 51 deg with gin clear water. We got skunked. I think the fish moved back out to deeper water where we didn't spend much time fishing. Ah well our first time on Spanaway and probably our last. Dock Nazzi's hit us up for 10$ on our way OUT! WTF lol . I say if you can get your ass up early enough to collect from me when I LAUNCH , then to bad for you lol . too bad for me it didn't work that way lol.

I think it was 52-53 pretty much whole day. I think there was an area that marked 54, but mostly 52-53 IIRC- All of our fish came out of just a few feet of water.

Yup, 52-53 and shallow close to deep except 3 fish were further away from deep water.

Hey Dustin, I know you haven't had luck on Bass Lake yet, but man I think you gotta ditch the dropshot and smallie gear, stick to the shoreline cover and just pitch jigs, and slow roll a big spinnerbait, or deadstick a senko! I'm telling you I know there are some big fish in there, and nobody fishes it .... but you!

Of course Nick hung that giant smallie on American, so that would be a good bet too.

For your area, I'd hit Morton (if it's open), Sawyer (try to get Tom to show you his honey holes), and Meridian. Sammamish is going to have an Open tourney on Saturday and then the Hawghunters club tourney on Sunday. Dez doesn't want you hanging out on his spots and catching all his fish, which is why he didn't tell you to hit Sammy!

I think I will work bass lake a lot more as the weather gets warmer. Spending time on these other lakes is helping my confidence. After spending a day with Tom I could see a lot of things I wasn't doing.

Yup. Coated it with Uncle Buck's Light n Crispy batter I got from Bass Pro Shops a while ago. YUM!

I haven't fished Morton in quite a while, but as I recall the ramp was pretty shallow. Anyone with a bass boat 21' launched there lately? CMan, those are pigs, any pics?

I hit morton last summer and I just remember it was kinda awkward because all the trout anglers from the shoreline didn't much care to move aside to launch the boat. Same thing when you're coming back in. You're doing your best to pick a line so you don't interrupt their fishing but nobody really wanted to move aside, LOL. really a neat little lake I thought though I thought.

I have not hit bass lake yet but its on my list. Kilarny is descent caught a few around 3 last summer best 5 was about 11-12 pounds. I still haven't found a small electric only lake that produces better than trout lake. Best 5 at trout for me and my buddy's is around 20 pounds with pics.

I might hit bass lake this weekend.

I have launched a 21 foot skeeter in that lake many times with no issues.

I will say this though that the trout guys who block that ramp at Morton are going to get run over if they dont move themselves out of the way. I have asked nicely on many occasions to reel their stuff up and move so I could launch and pick up but they dont seem to care. So i just back up anyway.

They are either too stupid to read or just total morons because it is a launch ramp as the sign behind them dictates.

I understand to some degree why they wont move because they were there first but it is a launch ramp.

This reminds me of a few years ago when Joy got lots of interest from some hot fishing posts. Personally, I think all these medium sized lakes have a few lunkers swimming around in them, and if you're skilled and lucky enough to pull one out I would encourage you to catch and release.

I also recall we had an issue with a few members deciding it was alright to harrass other members and tell them to "keep quiet". All I can say to that is if you decide to do this and I get a complaint your account will be banned. Harrassment of other members about posting fishing reports or information is a violation of the terms of use on this site, and just plain rude and counter to what the site is all about. Especially when we aren't talking about some tiny unknown lake, but a lake with WDFW access and stocked yearly with fish. So with that thought in mind and specifcally for those of you who think it IS OK to harrass other members on this site about posting information I give you:
