I don't believe in superstitions, it's bad luck.
Forgiveness is between them and God. My job is to arrange the meeting!

Nothing like catching fish while eating a banana, not banned on our boat. [flapper]

dip the net and get it wet before fishing. guess that would be my only superstition. i can't think of anything else but i am sure there is more, i just don't consider them superstitions because it's what needs to be done to catch fish. [thumbup]

Prior to getting really involved in fishing, I believed in multiple superstitions about what would make or break a day of fishing... The superstitions were silly so I won't say what they were; however, now that I fish so often, these "thoughts" I used to have vanished. I have had great days after doing what I thought was superstitious and I have had bad days after doing what was so called "superstitious." Basically it comes down to "it's just fishing" in my book. Lots of things affect the fish, from weather, to the moon, to the heat or cold, and even the amount of fishing pressure on a given day. If I have a bad day, I don't believe it's because of anything 'superstitious.'

Now that I think about it there are a few rules/superstitions on our boat.

1) If you cant pee in a bucket you cant go on the boat.
2) Old farts and drunks are not allowed to try to pee over the side - see rule #1
3) No drunks on the boat - see rule #2
