this weekends best bets?

what lakes on the west side are you guys hitting tomorrow/sunday? I have a few hours to sneak away in the a.m. I think... probably going somewhere here in south king county... or potentially north east pierce county... haven't decided yet.

Hey Dustin, I know you haven't had luck on Bass Lake yet, but man I think you gotta ditch the dropshot and smallie gear, stick to the shoreline cover and just pitch jigs, and slow roll a big spinnerbait, or deadstick a senko! I'm telling you I know there are some big fish in there, and nobody fishes it .... but you!

Of course Nick hung that giant smallie on American, so that would be a good bet too.

For your area, I'd hit Morton (if it's open), Sawyer (try to get Tom to show you his honey holes), and Meridian. Sammamish is going to have an Open tourney on Saturday and then the Hawghunters club tourney on Sunday. Dez doesn't want you hanging out on his spots and catching all his fish, which is why he didn't tell you to hit Sammy!

I've been on several smaller natural lakes and the LMB are holding on docks and cruising shallow- and biting! It's a matter of just pick one and fish!! The lakes to the south should be farther along, I'm in the northend and don't know the lakes in the southend.
The smaller and shallower lakes will warm faster and you'll be able to cover and recover more water upping your odds in
catching some decent LMB.

If you have a small boat with just electric only I would be hitting Northlake in fed way, or lake Doloff. These warm up fast and have some big bass in them.

Also if you have an outboard motor I would focus on Angle Lake by the airport on Pacific Hwy. Saw a couple of fish in there that were over 9-10 bls a couple of years ago and it gets very little if at all pressure.

Northlake is seasonal and not open yet. Dolloff is open and Killarney is open , both are shallow and warm up early. Sawyer would be a great choice right now and its close to you. I've caught some smallies out of Sawyer this season allready . Where ever you go have fun =) .

I'll be out on Spanaway lake tomorrow. I've heard its good but never have fished it.

Kilarney I definitely want to try soon. I had VERY good luck with a couple decent LMB's off geneva last year, never tried the K across the street though.

you read my mind I already PM'd Tom and I'm going to meet him on Sawyer tomorrow a.m.! My only Bass so far in 2010 came off sawyer so I was starting to feel good about it anyways... and that was about 3 weeks ago in only 6ft or so of water.

otherwise, I'd just motor around sammamish all day and mark where everyone is dropping lines! LOL

You know the last time I was on Bass lake... It was all jigs and spinners, I swear it. I do want to hit Bass again eventually... but I think I'll wait until I get a fish finder on the little boat so that I can see if I even mark ANYTHING.

I do but it's at my father in laws. I have kind of split my fish journals so I always have writing materials in different boats in case I forget mine. I'll hopefully remember mine though. I'll print another if I remember and stick it in my home journal here.

My buddy lived on angle for years, when we started gettin into fishing we went out and fished with jigs the outside edges of the docks and we saw the biggest bass we have ever seen,
It was no doubt a state record
It isnt a heavily fished lake, maybe a good idea?

I'll be heading up to Lake Goodwin after I get off work at 10:00. With any luck I'll be able to recover a couple rods that went overboard last Sunday. Not to mention the bites been pretty good.

Tom took me out on Sawyer today and we had a pretty good day I think! He pulled a couple 2lb + SMB's, and I sunk into a 3+lb. we hooked into a number of trout too, one of the ones he caught was actually pretty thick. defnitely not a recent stocker. Thanks again for taking me out Tom!
