Float tubing Goodwin?

I've been wanting to give Lake Goodwin a try for bass and/or trout, but I'm limited to a float tube. I'm thinking about putting in either at the new park on the north end and working the flats or at Wenberg and working the drop-offs just off shore. Any advice from the seasoned Goodwin'rs out there?

I can't answer for Goodwin, but I say...get out there! Water has to be cold still, so think slow. Jigs, etc for bass. When I fish for trout, I toss spinners. Good luck!

Not familar with a north end park, guess I need to get out there this year. Wenberg will put you into some nice deep dock areas. Keep close to shore as that's a skiing lake (although I would think not so much this time of year).

Yeah, if you go now through April, you shouldnt have many problems with boats, but a float tube may be tricky in the summer months with the boats on there. If you launch wenberg park, take your float tube into the south cove. There are many docks with varying depths. Or head north into the cove, and around the cove and move north along the shore. If you can, try to get across to the west side. You may be able to do this by parking near shoecraft and sneaking in along the road.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I might give the coves near Wenberg a try this weekend. Might also investigate any possible access on the west side to drop the tube in, although it does appear to be limited.
