Ok, I didn't get a picture of the fish, but 2/2/10 caught a 4lb 3oz smallie in 53ft. The fish went to UW fishery biologist Lauren Kuehne who is doing a fish study of smallies and squawfish. It will be resting comfortable for a couple weeks in the lab for study and then released.

First 3 pounder of 2010 ... came in at 3# 2oz using a black and blue jig.

Since I didn't have a scale or a tape #-o (I measured it against my buddy's pole so I have to get him to measure the pole now, will update when I get that) I don't know if this guy was trophy thread worthy or not, but he is now my PB Smallie and definately qualified for the "almost" page...

Thanks guys - it was 19 3/4" according to by buddy's pole measurment.
