How Do I Ge My Swimbait To Swim Upright?

I have been fishing with a storm swim shad and i cant get it to swim upright, it swims on its side and sometimes it swims almost upside down. How do i fix this?

- boil it
- re-weight it
- make sure you hooks are centered / aligned

though your 1st step should have been not to buy them

Buy a higher quality swimbait. Never liked the run of storm baits. Poorly made.

if its swimming upside down then put the hook upside down to make it right side up.:joker:

Are you reeling to fast? This will cause the bait to swim sideways.

I'm with you Trent, first thing I pictured was the bait being worked to quickly and it rolling to its side.
I notice that more with minnow baits and jerkbaits [hard baits] however. I dont own any Storm products so I cant comment on quality.

Make sure your knot is in line with the hook.
I use an improved clinch knot, tye it down tight and pull it strait off the front of the jig.
Storm makes a pretty good bait (IMHO) I like the small Bluegill and the 4 inch Perch for Walleye and Bass.

Like previous posts have stated, some baits are not meant to be reeled fast. I know my Western Swimmer works better on a slow retrieve speed, unless a lot more weight is added. Just experiment with speeds and see if that helps.
