south king county lakes
I heard the launch at Tapps was closed for winter or something? I'm taking the Lund out tomorrow for a test run (fixed some things, replaced some things, new livewell pump, etc) and trying to find a south king county lake where I might actually see some fishies on the finder. any suggestions? If I can't get on tapps, may try sawyer.
I'll be heading out around noon probably. I was thinking sammamish or wa wa, but didn't really want to do the longer drive and waste time on the road during these still shorter days when i could be on the water!
also, is this a condom? :safe:

Sawyer's speed limit goes up to 30 mph at 2 pm, in case you want to test your speed. Otherwise the speed limit is 8mph
Meridian's speed limit is 35 which goes up at 9am til 6pm.

You've been out on Sawyer recently haven't you? any luck? my buddy that is going with me is asking me to take him to sammamish because he's only been there once. I'm not against it, just didn't want to drive an hour if I didnt' have to.
RE:south king county lakes
Have only been on Sammamish this year. 3 times and no fish. Have never fished Sammamish in the winter before. Haven't fished Sawyer in the winter for over 10 years.

AMX ,
Dude send me a pm , the sammy smallie bite is there and they are chewing pretty good ! Lets talk about how you were fishing it , how deep , which baits , etc ... Im sure i can get you a fish out there if you willing to give it another shot !! LMK i would be happy to help a fellow angler get the shunk out of the boat .. I had not been out to sammy prior to pre fishing for the freeze since last summer shortly after the WL.com Derby , first day of pre fishing i got right into them on our first hole ...

Yup, The county park is closed untill March 1 and 2000subaru says Allen York is no good for launching now either. Lake Tapps is a mud bog right now. Not much chance of launching anything unless you can carry it to the water. Sawyer is a good lake.

I better get my butt moving and get over to Toms and get a prop fitted so I can get out there.
RE:south king county lakes
definitely will be good just to be on the water. It may not be 80 yet, but even 50 and sunny is a great change of pace from dark and 30!

Ya, depending what speed your boat is capable of. Over 30 and you won't be able to learn what the top speed will be, and what the tach will read at that speed.RaMcVey wrote:Might be a good place to test a prop....Amx wrote:I gotta get to Sawyer soon.

hey Dustin, is your brother coming back home from the service this spring? Remember, you and he have a standing invite from me to go out on Sammamish or Washington whenever you want to go. Just let me know! See ya!Dustin07 wrote:definitely will be good just to be on the water. It may not be 80 yet, but even 50 and sunny is a great change of pace from dark and 30!

Yeah, and they patrol it too, I got ticketed on Sawyer a few years back. Swear to god there were people starting to waterski, but the second I came out of the hole in my boat, I get ticketed. I think it's like when you have a red sportscar and you get targeted...same thing with bass boats.Amx wrote:Sawyer's speed limit goes up to 30 mph at 2 pm, in case you want to test your speed. So I got the new aerator in and working, upgraded from a 500 to 750, new LED taillights on the trailer, new batteries, everything appears to be good, and the motor won't start. It's always been cold blooded, but... oh well. I am certain it just needs a tune up. But with my big boat out of commission, and a whole day to burn, my buddy and I scrapped sammamish and took his Arima to Sawyer. I'm still bassless for 2010, but he started catching trout on his rapala, so I switched over for the last 30 minutes of the day and we ended with 4 trout boated.
All in all, not what I was looking for, but the weather was BEAUTIFUL. Great weather, great lake, out on the boat, fish landed, what can I complain about?
