Check the boat out on the water! Crank it, kill it and crank it again. Get it hot, kill it and crank it. Look close at the paint on the engine making sure it's not over heating. The paint will change color if it has(paint will be a reddish to rust color). Walk all over the decks making sure there are no soft spots indicating possible rotting. Make sure irrigators work for the live wells. Also make sure bilge pump works properly (very important). Look for damage on keel. Be sure to check the prop for dings, dents or cracks. They can be spendy to replace. If all these check out, it's a good boat to get. Price? They may not come down due to it being a nitro with a new trailer but you might be able to talk him down $1,000.

Either way, it looks nice from the outside, I agree the price is a bit high, but that is what looking at the used market is like for cars, RVs, or boats. Hope you find what you want and get a good deal, it's all about being able to barter. If the seller is too stubborn, walk away, but leave your name and number. you might get a more positive response if you do the dickering in person (pitching an email that says will you take 1/2 price will probably get ignored). But if you print out a NADA that shows $3k, go look at the boat, and say hey, I think this is only worth $3k, and I'd like my mechanic to look at it... then you might make some positive grounds.

it's a cool looking boat. If you're only planning on using it for bass fishing I envy you. I boated over 40 times last year. No joke. I took a boat on water, 40+ times. Salmon, bottom fish, trout, bass, perchin', and of course duck hunting. I wish I could find a true one-size-fits-all. Funny thing is despite me going out 40 times... i do not own a boat :P

The boat has been on my short list, it is way over priced, only books out at 2800.00 per nada, and with the seat issues it should be less. There are alot of boats coming on the market so leave your options open. Good Luck finding the right boat.

You'd better act quick. I think any decent tournament ready boat for 5.000 or under will go fast around here, because there's not that many available

Take it out for run on the lake, then drag it down to "Limit Out Performane Marine" have the motor looked at. I'm sure they can help giving the boat a look over! Boats go extreamely fast this time of year, I'm with basser90 "act quick". Someone may show up and buy it right out from under you! Ive seen it the next call you make, you get the stomach wrenching "sorry SOLD".
