Everett Launch Closing for a Month
This is a quote from Teds Sporting goods blog....
Everett's 10th Street To Close For Dredging - Starting January 25th
Everett's 10th Street Boat Launch is closing Monday 25th of January for dredging. The dredging will start on January 27th and continue 24 hours a day 7 days a week with the work to be completed by February 25. A possible 2 week extension may be necessary.
This closure will undoubtedly cause a lot of problems with winter blackmouth fishermen as this is the most popular launch in the area. One can use the Mukilteo launch (though the docks are removed for the winter and is very susceptible to the wind and rough water, making it very difficult in the winter). One can use the Langus Park launch and run down the river (this launch is susceptible to the river flow and tides, though it does have docks to help in launching and make sure not to cut the North Jetty as many boats do go high and dry depending on the tide). The Marysville launch is a good facility though you also have to run down the slough down to Priest Point (this also has tide and river flow problems and you have to be very careful running the slough and the shallow delta at the mouth of the river).
This closure is going to cause some problems this winter, but will be a blessing this summer as there were many days that there were problems launching of retrieving on the minus tides.

Doeas anybody know if there are docks at Camano Island State Park or Kayak State Park? I can't figure it out from their websites... Last time I was at either place, you had to beach your boat to go get the trailer, etc... I'd rather not do that.

That's pretty much the program. I haven't been to the St Park in years but the Utsilady launch is pretty primitive.
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!

Kayak State park still hadn't put in any docks when I was there last. Normally it's calm enough your boat doesn'tTomD wrote:Doeas anybody know if there are docks at Camano Island State Park or Kayak State Park? I can't figure it out from their websites... get hammered while parking or getting your trailer. When I've been there it was like launching in a bathtub.

Camano St. Pk. has two docks, but they are half their summer time size. Kinda like Mukilteo, pick your tides. It can get shallow and gravel can can build up on ramps, but all together a good launch and close to good areas.

So at Mukilteo the docks are completely out in the winter, but the pilings remain, so I am always reminded of trying to land on a beach in WWII with all those barricade thingys on the beach... Camano sounds better if there is any dock at all... Thanks! It will save me a trip up there to look at it... might try it Saturday!

One of my fav BM spots is right across from the Camano launch at Greenbank. It's actually the point between greenbank and northbluff. Really easy spot to fish with a forgiving bottom. Watch out for the commercial crab pots though.
Good luck. I will live vicarious through you as my winter fishing is on hold , due to a home remodel.

I got a chance to launch at Camano Island State Park... just now got the pictures out of the camera... There is a single launch ramp with docks on both sides. Unless both vehicle drivers are experts, it's probably only one boat launching at a time, though you can tie up to either dock. If boats are tied across from each other, there is probably only 2-3 feet between them, so it's kind of close quarters. The day I was there, it worked great. On a south wind, it might be a bit rougher... I will try to figure out how to post the pictures...
