Lucky Craft Jerkbaits - why so expensive?

Post by bcalvert » Sat Nov 28, 2009 2:53 pm

My kids got me a couple of Lucky Craft Jerkbaits for my B-Day this week. they look and feel like very nice lures, hooks are extremely sharp, nice weight. I have not had a chance to test them out yet.

I was wondering if anyone can clue me in as to why they are so expensive?
at $15+ each - I am almost afraid to use/loose them.

Because people will pay for them... They are the "Hot" jerkbait currently on the market and people follow the trends. I crank wins a tourney, and they advertise it all over the place, sales sky rocket, and everyone is happy.

BC ,

I can still recall the day about 10years ago as stood there in Bass Pro Shops staring at these baits , i scratched my head for few while asking a gentleman next to me the same question your asking . Why so much bud ? He looked at me with a half smile of his face and replied : because if you dont have any of these baits , your leaving fish on you favorite spots ! lol .. So i went on to ask him about a few good colors for the LC Pointers , he suggested AYU , Tennessee shad , american shad , nishiki .. Well turns out i happen to be in the store at the right time (SPRING SALES EVENT ) those puppies were on sale for 10.99 ..After purchasing those four baits i went back out on the lake and i did catch a few LMB on them , well ten years later and 20 LC'S Later i have grown to realize that these baits are the TRUTH AND UN MATCHED AT TIMES ! As far as colors on them , from what i understand is that LC puts about 8-10 coats of paint on each lure . All lures are hand man one at a time to achieve maximum performance and over 90% of the time they run tru right out of the package . Basicly BC , you are getting what you pay when you buy any LC'S , it's a solid productive lure that catches fish across the nation !! tourney tested and approved !!

Now i cant wait untill you start a thread about the first time you lose a luckyCraft on snag !! LMAO .. I have submerged half of my body under water to retrieve one before , and yes my 20 LC'S are the "same" LC's that i purchased years ago ! I have a firm " dont lose that bait " policy when it comes to my Lucky charms !!!

Your gonna like them bro , so which modal did you get ? what colors ? send me a PM i can offer some suggestions !

Thanks for the Info - I gave them a test run on Sunday. They cast well and the slightest twitch generates some great movement.

Dez I sent you a PM (I think)

I hope nobody thinks I am hating on LC lures. The bait monkey has grabbed one almost every time I visit Cabelas. They always seem to have them in the clearance sections. I even have paid for some of the "Real Skin" models. They DO catch fish.

The Live Pointer is weak in the joints, just terrible, and I swore after breaking three this last year on fish that I would never again buy one.

I honered my promise; bought two instead.
:-" :-$

The suckers just work, and they just work well.

Sportsman's Warehouse is stocking the pointers. i got a pointer and a live pointer as gifts. Both suspending. I would like to take a look at some of the other types of lures that LC makes as well.

I have had the LC Real Cali 130 Simbaits~Aurora Green Perch and Rainbow Trout for 2 seasons now,..the detail on these baits are unbelievable,..I haven't landed anything with them but I haven't thrown them allot,..with so many Swimmy's in my arsenal some tend 2 get looked over or by~passed if you will,..but,..I will take inventory this coming season and I know that the LC's will definately stay in my weaponry,..I do like the LC Pointers though,..nice baits!
