Having fishing Silver lake in every month but October and November, I know that catching fish year round there is possible. I along with Chris B have had days of catching bass with snow on the deck. My favorite one was a club fishin in Febuary. It started snowing around Olympia and got steadily worse as we got closer to the lake. The beauty of that trip was not catching 1 but 2 nice largemouth that cold day. I had one fish attack my jig 4 times before I actually caught it. That fish was up to FEED, and it was not going to be denied a meal. Just happened to be my jig. As to a challenge, yes this is very challenging. Knowing your going to flip your jig 1000 times and maybe get one or two bites. This comes down to the mental game and mental toughness. I tend to do very well in tournies where it is TUFF. I set my expectations appropriately for the day and go out and execute a plan. In the winter the expectation is 1 or 2 bites. I know this going in and this helps me stay mentally focused thru the day. If I expect 10 bites and by 1 oclock have nothing then it is easy as a angler to to loose focus.
I would be happy to come down there in January and take up your challenge.

WOW good post! I like your dedication! Well the first challenge was yesterday. The water was 42-45 degress and a little windy. But guess what, we ended up with 2 small bass but size is not the point. Yes it is nice to catch bigger ones but hey a bass is a bass. Yes I would love for u to take up the challenge, because it sounds like you fish a totally differnt style than me so thats one more advantige we would have on the lake:bounce: I fish slow with plastics but not good with a jig. The guy took yesterday fishes mostly with spinners and cranks. So IM me and lets talk about some stuff. That goes for any one too. We also landed about 200 crappie/blue/perch :D
Wherever there is water there must be a fish!
