A challege to you!!!!

Post by midnghtshdow » Mon Nov 02, 2009 6:24 pm

Hey, guys i have a challenge i would like to extend your way. I would like yo see how hardcore you really are. I would like to either be a back seater or have a person be a back seater torwerds the end of november and a couple times through out december for a bass catching challenge.. How do you think you will do? It is possible but can you handle the elements, the fishes slow bites? I think it would be fun cause i like a challenge and i think it would better me as a fisherman. Now here is the catch, the lake is Silver Lake! Ya thats right it will be nice and cold :D PM me if you are interested. Also I would like to throw this your way. Have you heard of AlluringBaits.com? Well they are a awsome site for plastics in wich you will prob be using really soon for sluggish fish. From all kinds of sinko's, worms, craws, and all kinds of plastics for the cheapest price i have been able to find. I also have a DISCOUNT code for like 10 percent off even tho its really cheap. You just put the word (ROBBINS) in the discount code place and walla. I use these baits and they are good and for the price they are AWSOME!! They are based out of Texas. They treat you well too, he likes to throw in extras here and there too. well pm me on the challenge!
Wherever there is water there must be a fish!

Doesn't Silver Lake freeze to the bottom during the winter? I do anyway. Image Altho I'm thinkng of doing a little - very little - winter fishing this winter.

I'll be making a few trips down to Silver this winter,I don't expect great results but I'll use
any reason to get out of the house.
Silver is shallow but western Washington has a pretty mild winter,I wouldn't expect it to freeze.

I have seen silver covered in ice, trust me guys silver isn't a place for winter. Go to lake wa and go for smallies. Atleast then you have a chance.

If you must fish silver in the winter start in Johns canal and stitch fish it like your lathargic, cause the bass will be. I have also heard of them being caught on waldon island shaking by a deep dock, deep dock for silver that is.

I wouldn't think of using anything but a jig.

Silver lake is IMO already a deadstick kinda pond for the most part ! I cant even imagine how long a bait will have to sit there after each flip in order to entice a bite ! During the late summer months my average time of allowing my jig to soak was about 2-4min .. During the winter months geeeez 5-8 min per flip , WoW i wouldnt be able to keep focus , im sorry but i have A.D.D. and these conditions are not good for my health ..lol :-"

I was thinking the same thing. Lets see some fish pics, preferably with some snow in the background. Wouldn't want to sucker us guys down there without knowing it's possible.

I have no plans in taking part in the challenge, just to busy to make any real plans
at this time. I'm not very familiar with Silver enough to know how it fishes in the colder months
and I believe tnj, chris and bbd know the lake fairly well and are probably right about the lakes winter results.
However, I'll still be giving it a shot soon. The family and I really enjoyed our stay at the resort
and catching fish will just be an added bonus, might even try fishing other lakes in the general area
and lodging at Silver Lake.

I have fished that lake lots of times in winter. Always had fun, I have chased crappie and perch as well also a no go for me there in winter. The trout on the other hand are there to be had. Have even caught trout on soft plastics in winter. Fish the shoreline off the resorts dock, you will probably be the only one out there.

Chuck gave me that your crazy look when we said we were going out for bass

I'm stupid,...I'll try for bass,at least for a couple minutes, then try for trout. I wonder if carp would bite
in the winter?:-k
