Property lines end at the HIGH WATER MARK, rivers and lakes.

All lake bed, under water items, under docks, the water itself, fish IN the water, ect. is/are not owned by the land owner. Any fish structure planted by the dock owner is fair game for everyone. They only own the dock that is above water. Ok, they do own any crawfish/crayfish traps left out, and have a marker bouy.

Be careful with this. It all depends on the body of water that the homeowner lives on. Here on the Lake Entiat stretch of the Columbia River the homeowner can own the rights to the land under the water prohibiting anyone from anchoring. You can actually buy 100% submerged parcels of land on this stretch.#-o

I saw you over there Man , and i also heard about this later at the dock .. Sorry that happened , Way to hold your ground ! But if some diver was hitting the bottom of the boat , I would have taken a swim myself and came back up with scuba gear and a wetsuit that would have been for sell on this site this morning for $0.99 ...:-#

Did they have nice boats parked at thier docks ? Could have drove them crazy throwing 3/4 jigs inches away from thier 50k wakeboat :-"
I actually had a guy tell his teenage kids to shoot at me with their BB and pellet guns.... (On Lake Ki) I went out deeper where they couldn't reach me and when I got tired of the raining projectiles, I went in. Got dried off (tubing) and called 911. I drove around to the house caught the kids by suprise with their guns, slapped'em a bit. When dad heard the noise he came running. I told him he'd better sit in the house and wait till the cops came or might have to shoot him with a real gun......... The cops came and what do ya know..... They take a very dim view of adults having their kids shoot at people on the lake........

Yep its pretty wild. The land is owned by the PUD unless purchased by someone. Most landowners land up there extends 10-15' beyond high water mark which makes duck hunting pretty damn hard up on that stretch.

sheesh...i didnt realize people were this bad about someone fishing in a public lake...its always mind blowing how idiotic people can be.

Fortunately i haven't experienced anything like this but if there are people sitting at the deck or backyard, I try to ask them if it would be ok to fish around the dock area and most people are cool about it. I've had some people say encouraging things. I told a guy who was sitting on his dock that I had caught some fish under his dock and he was so happy to hear it and said i can fish under it anytime I want.

It must be a Lake Sammamish thing. Folks in Lake Washington are pretty cool about fishing near their docks. Heck, when I'm pulling perch out of the bay near the Seattle Tennis club the owners are happy to see that the lake isn't dead and grill us for info on how to go about catching them. Perhaps a good civil suit for mental distress is in order. After all, we go fishing to relieve our stress, not to get more added to it! Definitely post the GPS coordinates of the house and I'm sure an armada of boats will be happy to hammer home the point.

Lets set a date for the second weekend in Sept. I can afford the parking fee then only. Or my/a backseater would have to pay the $7.

We can all raft up the boats and tie off to the stump. Image Image

Or circle the boats around their dock and all fish the dock at the same time. Image Image

I'm in a smaller boat with a small trolling motor and people on some of the lakes think it is funny to buzz me while skiing. So I went online looking for something to help stabilized the boat in their wake and I found this.

Do you guys think it is over kill? I figure if the motor goes dead I can use the recoil to get back to shore.

Funny how some people are and how it goes south real quick. The flip side to that... I was fishing a guys dock once, and he told me of a huge bass he see's all the time around it. We talked fishing for a bit, then he invited up for a cocktail with him and his wife on their deck. I thanked him and declined. He told me the offer stood whenever I came back. I need to get back there. But folks that think they own it all...frustrating to say the least.

Here's the location photo:

The guy on the balcony on the right was the first jerk. The scuba diver and the other jerk came from the house in the middle of the frame.

BTW, thanks for all the support, guys.

Not the place I was thinking of. The other place I was thinking of I caught two 3lb smallies one right after another inside of 5 minutes and maybe 3 casts. 2 years ago. Around pilings and the person's dock. They were outside, but didn't say anything to me.

I am sooooooo glad I can walk any where I want on these lakes here:dwarf:

No if I was there though I would be down to buy a raft and tie up all day there and catch perch....

Ask to see the deed that shows what he owns. He might be pleasantly surprised.
