I use a 50/50 dick nite fished under a slip float, with 4 foot leader and I put the bobber stop 3-6 feetabove the bobber........reel very slowly to get a wobbling type action. Another way is to rig the dick nite almost like drift fishing. You need a a3-6 ft leader tied to a 3 way swivel and a 6-10 inchdroper weight from1/2-2 ounces depending on the speed of the water tied on the other side with th remaining side to your mainline.

I fish the duwamish for pinks as soon as spokane st bridge is open I will be there with 1/2 once pink jigs with a hootchie. Corky and yarn past that.

I like pink fishing, call me what you will but pinks are great!

You will know when you mass loads of cars parked near the water that's when it's humpy season! But as far as I know it's September first! And anything pink works corkie and yarn or jig and bobber

i know they typically start show off dash point not long after the 4th of july with it heating up around the middle to end of july. i'd think the puyallup would start showing a good number of fish by the 1st week of august. not sure bout the green but i'd think it'd be a week or so before the puke.

as for my favorite pink rig in the river, rocket red or bright orange corkies. i'm after kings or silvers in the river and still get more than my fair share of pinks.

I've tried lots of different stuff, but for me my best results were to keep it simple...

Off the beach: Pink buzzbombs (3 or 4") tied to 8-10# mainline with a single siwash hook. Wing it out there and jig it back.
In the rivers: 8# braid and my 10.5' ML float rod (casting distance), 3' of 6# leader, and a 1/4oz pink jig (you only want the material to go just the end of the hook for better casting, hookup ratio, & less short strikes). Cast it out and jig (twitch) it back.

Both methods they usually hit it on the fall.

When I say jig..
Buzzbombs: Rod tip goes up 2' then reel in the slack.
Jigs: Twitch it, rod tip goes up about 1' then reel in the slack.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Pink buzz bomb with a 1" pink squid and a single hook on the end of the buzz bomb. Cast it and jig it back. Absolutly kills them in the Snohomish.

Actually the question should be "What won't river pinks bite on!"

Pretty much. Everyone always uses pink everything, I usually always use green or orange since those are my favorite Coho killers and that is usually what I am targeting while pinks are in the system.

Matt, you've got it! Same thing in saltwater. The trick is how to get to the silvers without getting pestered by pinks. Even though saltwater pinks are in a lot better condition than the soft, slimy river pinks they still are a bloody mess.

I've found that whatever I'm using trolling for kings or silvers will work if you slow it down or come to a near stop. Last pink season, it seemed every time I made a turn in Elliot Bay, the inside rod picked one up. The mini glow B2 squid was the worst, even if you dragged it at a good clip you'd still pick one up every so often. Once you get into the river, I think the Dick Nite in 50/50 red/silver is money on pinks and silvers.
