Lake Sawyer Tips?

Post by Dustin07 » Tue Aug 18, 2009 10:08 am

My father in law and I are planning on heading out for a few hours tonight after work to get a little more aquainted with his new smokercraft. we've been skunked in the past with the exception of an accidental bullhead... Anyone willing to provide a geographical or otherwise tip of this lake?

What fish?

The speed limit goes down at 7 pm. I'd get there about 6:30 if you want a tour of the lake at speed. How fast can your boat go?

the boats a little underpowered, but does OK with less people in it. it's a 40hp merc outboard on a 16' smokercraft. not sure what the top speed is, i haven't been in it when it didn't have too many people in it...

definitely targeting the bassies.

Can it go 30 mph?

Go here and print out the Lake Sawyer map.

http://www.washingtonlakes.com/TopoMaps ... ertopo.gif

If that link doesn't give you the full sized map, go here, then click on the map to increas the size;

http://www.washingtonlakes.com/Search.aspx?m=4

If that doesn't work, type in Sawyer, then it'll give you the map to click on;

http://www.washingtonlakes.com/Search.aspx?m=4

Then come back here. To do it best, open another browser to look for the lake map by right clicking on the 2nd or 3rd link above, then click on 'open in new window'.

go to page 27 for the Lake Sawyer map, then do as noted above.

Hey Tom, thanks for the tips!! how did you do last night? It was good to see you out there!

We didn't get much action at all unil I started working the southern island. Still didn't land anything, but at least started getting some strikes. we weren't there long though, had to head off the lake about 9pm.

I only got that one. Couple follows after dark. I only stayed in that bay where I was when you guys went down lake. I didn't really feel like staying too late. I left at 9:30.

I still plan on going at about 5am Fri.
