maybe not the right title for the post but... does it make a difference if your fishing a lake that has lots of houses where water toys such as floating trampolines or slides are present compared to an area with less houses and water toys? such as would there be less fish(bass mostly) because of all the movement caused from children and what not. just wondering about peoples opinions

I don't think so the fish may move off that structure while it is in use but they don't go far.....

As long as there are no people swimming in the area fishing near (like under) the docks can be a very good idea, it just depends on what is growing there since some fish don't like certain plants.

Sometimes lakes that have a lot of recreational activity other than fishing can work to your advantage. For example, many of these lakes have dozens of "ski platforms", which are floating docks usually 20-30 yards off shore. usually, these platforms are in areas where the water next to the normal docks that connect to the shore is too shallow and weedy to ski from. The bonus is that the platforms provide a perfect spot for big bass to stage. They suspend under them in deeper water on sunny, calm days and move into the weedy flats on occasion to feed. use something with a slow fall and pitch as close to the platform as possible, and they'll snag it on the fall usually.

Also i like when i see a slide or especially a diving board on the end of a dock, because that means the dock is usually over water that is at least 8-10 feet deep, since most people don't like sliding/diving into a patch of weeds. for me docks that are at least partly over deeper water are the most productive in terms of holding fish.

so there's a couple examples of how you can use those other, usually annoying water sports to your advantage.

Anyone who's fished Beaver Lake out by Sammamish has seen several of these floating trampolines. I've sat close to them fishing, the wind has picked up and blown them a few feet and you can sometimes see the bass that were hanging out in the shade below them. They'll just turn and swim right back under it most of the time.
